The independent car care pros on LuxWash are professionals who take pride in their work. In the rare event that something goes wrong and your vehicle is damaged during a service, the LuxWash Damage Protection Program exists as a backstop.

What the Program is

The Damage Protection Program is a voluntary, discretionary platform benefit offered by LuxWash. It is not insurance. LuxWash charges no fee for it, and it gives no one an automatic right to a payment. It is a form of support the platform may provide to help resolve a genuine damage situation after you have first raised it with the pro who did the work.

How it works

The pro who services your car is responsible for their own work. If your vehicle is damaged because of a pro's workmanship, here is the path:

  1. Report it within five days of the service, through the app or by email.
  2. Provide before-and-after photos. These help show whether the damage came from the service or was already there.
  3. The claim is first directed to the pro. LuxWash reviews the situation and applies the pro's own account funds toward a valid claim.
  4. If the pro's funds are not enough, LuxWash may, at its discretion, provide voluntary damage-protection assistance of up to $1,500 per incident as a platform benefit.

This assistance is discretionary. LuxWash may grant, reduce, condition, or decline it, and providing it once does not create any obligation to do so again.

What is not considered

The Program does not consider pre-existing damage, normal wear and tear, incidents unrelated to the pro's direct work (for example, another vehicle striking your car, or weather while the pro is on site), damage caused by an unsafe or unsuitable location that you provided, or anything reported after the five-day window.

Coming soon

The Program applies to services booked through LuxWash once early access opens, starting in Zone A on the Island of Montréal. Join the waitlist at luxwash.co.

FAQ

Is the Damage Protection Program insurance?

No. It is a voluntary, discretionary platform benefit. LuxWash is not an insurer, charges nothing for the Program, and provides any assistance at its own discretion. It does not replace the pro's own responsibility for their work.

How do I report damage?

Report it within five days of the service, through the app or by email, and include before-and-after photos. Those photos help establish whether the damage came from the service.

Who is responsible if my car is damaged?

The independent pro who performed the service is responsible for their own work. A claim is first directed to the pro. Only if the pro's funds are not sufficient may LuxWash consider discretionary assistance.

How much assistance is available?

LuxWash may, at its discretion, provide voluntary damage-protection assistance of up to $1,500 per incident, once the steps above are met. This is discretionary and not a guaranteed amount.

What is the deadline to report?

Five days from the date of the service. Anything reported after that window is not considered.
